SILK!

That Himalayan silk is wonderful. That photo doesn't quite show it's true colors. Now, my 35mm would, but, you'd have to wait weeks for me to actually go through a roll of film, get it developed and then post the photo here.

I won this yarn on eBay and had quite a time with the 2nd 10 skeins that I have coming. I was being outbid every couple minutes so I went way up to be sure I'd win. My opposition gave up and I won at $23.50. Now, last night, another 10 skeins that I had bids on went for $47.50. What were those people thinking?

Now, I have to figure out what to make with this yarn. It has to be something I'll love forever. It's been a long time since I've actually paid over $40 for yarn for 1 garment.

SOCKS!

This is the next pair of socks on my needles. I even changed to size 1 needles to see if I like it any better. Yep, I do. I like fine-guage knitting better than that big-needle stuff. Most likely, it's because I don't like big clothes.

This is Sock Garden from KnitPicks and it feels so good while I'm knitting and it looks so smooth as I'm going. It's rather unfortunate that I'm using Hollyberry which, to me, looks like it should be worn around Christmas. I'll wear them anyway.

Just about 6 rows ago I was reading my e-mail and found today's e-newsletter from KnitPicks and ordered 6 more skeins of Sock Garden in the more summery colors.

I also ordered the book One Skein which goes along with the "skein exchange" that's starting up. That silly button that we can put on our blogs has me baffled. I can't seem to remember how to get anything but photos and posts to work out here. My people counter disappeared and now, the new challenge of the button. Any suggestions about what I'm doing wrong?

Now, we have these socks. Lion Brand Magic Stripes. What more can I say?

I like the yarn, but, the socks make my legs itch when I wear them. The first pair I made is calming down a little. I also wear a thin pair of white cotton socks at the same time. I was several miles a day at work just checking my buildings so two pairs of socks inside my work shoes keeps my ankles and hips from hurting while walking on all these concrete and tile floors.

So, looks like a nice spring day here today - at least it's not raining or snowing and the sun is sorta showing it's face from time to time.

You're going to love the Hollyberry socks! I made them last November as my Christmas socks, and have worn them since. They look good with jeans. Can't wait to see the silk made up.
Happy knitting.
