I decided that I had to put my talents to a better use than filling up my own closet and sock drawer.
This is my 1st completed Sock for Soldiers. It seemed like it took forever - this is one long sock. I didn't even choose to knit the largest size and instead started with the smallest. I'm going to strive to knit 1 pair in each size then see how it goes. I used KnitPicks Essential and used just under 1 ball of yarn for this one.
Sock #2 is already started - 1/2" of the ribbing is on the needles. I did need to order new needles since I still have my sock on my other pair of #2 circs. The ones I'm using aren't long enough so it makes it harder to work quicker.
I ventured out to our vegetable garden a while ago. It's still all mud out there. The tomato plants are dead, the peppers have all shrivelled and there was only 1 zucchini. I do have to make a return trip with a grocery bag to pick the yellow squash that did survive the rains that wouldn't stop for 8 days. They're saying we may get more rain tomorrow. We've had 5 dry days and still don't need more rain. There's still water in the ground raising our water level in the pond. Our dock is 1/2 under water.
Off to the eliptical. Need some exercise. My clothes were getting too snug again and I was in denial. How can someone who does so much walking at work still need exercise?
Have a great Wednesday and keep knitting!

You're really brave, is that black or navy? Tell me it's not your first pair of socks! In any case, it looks good!
