Anyone out there remember this sweater? It's from the Vogue Knitting Spring/Summer '94.
Well, that was it's second time around. The first time it was in the VK Third Book of Knitting. I can't find the actual year that was distributed. Back in '94 I actually knitted this in a taupe cotton. I have no idea where that sweater is now. Just another victim of "I don't like it anymore".
Why am I telling you this?
Because I'm knitting another one. This time, I'm using two fine-guage yarns held together. A mercerized off-white cotton and a slubby multi-colored yarn held together. I'm using #2 needles. Seed stitch and #2 needles - well, not a real fast knitting project. It's relaxing, though since I really don't have to pay attention to what I'm doing.
My One Skein book arrived this week. I looked it over yesterday before I got to my "outside chores". I saw several items that are tempting me.
I also received my 1957 Vogue Fall/Winter magazine. Talk about sweaters! The sweaters have that refined, feminine look to them. I found one that I definitely have to knit - no, actually, there are 2. Even though the magazine was for Fall/Winter, there are several holiday designs that would be just right for summer as well. One calls for D.M.C. yarn. Hmmm. Size 2 needles, too. I think I can find a suitable substitute.
Back to my knitting so I can post a photo soon.
Happy Spring Knitting!
