Now, when I'm not knitting or working at a paying job I'm working on our house. Last Saturday I spent a few hours caulking the cracks in the logs and the joints on the corners. Sunday morning I woke up and it felt like my right hand belonged to someone else. It wouldn't do what I wanted it to do.
We moved in "officially" last November and spent most of the winter staining the interior. Actually, we put a clear UV protector on the interior. We're not done yet. There's another winter coming.
I also started putting in some flower gardens along the porches.

That's what they looked like last weekend. After not having any rain for a few weeks, we got more than we really wanted and our yard now has ruts and the pond has some of our topsoil in it. So, we have to dig that out.

Now, gardening is also one of my passions. I grew up with gardening. My grandparents had a garden on 5 acres and I was taught at an early age. When I was old enough, I helped my dad with a much smaller garden in our yard. After I got married, I planted flowers and vegetables where ever they would fit in a subdivision yard. Now, after a divorce and "re"finding the man of my dreams, we're here in our Barna Log Home with 12.5 acres of space for gardening. We have a vegetable garden in the back behind the pond as well. Which reminds me, I have to go out and check for veggies. I haven't done that in several days.
How about just one more photo, though. This is one of my favorites that I took last weekend.
My wacky sunflower plant. It wasn't supposed to grow that way since the seeds were Mammoth Sunflower seeds. Must have been a fluke of nature. It's funny, though. I'm also looking forward to when it dries out and the finches come to rip it apart for the seeds.
