Finally! A Flower!

I have been trying to get this hibiscus plant to produce a flower for almost 2 years. Each time it would get close to developing a bud it would drop right off. Twice the plant went "bald" and dropped all of it's leaves. I don't recall ever having so much trouble with one of these before. This bloom opened yesterday and dropped off during the night. At least I was there for a photo opportunity. There are 2 more buds forming, so, maybe I'll catch those in bloom as well. I guess it prefers living outside. Only thing is, it's Michigan and it can't stay outside over the winter.

Socks!
That was sock #2 for Socks for Soldiers. I haven't taken an update photo yet and will as soon as the socks come out of the dryer.
Yep! I have 1 pair complete now and pair #2 is on the needles right here on my lap in front of the computer.
I haven't been blogging much lately. I don't know why other than I just haven't thought much about keeping up. That's not a good thing. I need to pay more attention to my blog. If I don't, what's the point?
Back to my sock after I go down and check the washer and dryer. I've been getting bad about leaving clothes in the washer these days. We have well water and if the clothes sit in the washer too long, they smell bad. I mean real bad.
I also have tomatoes stewing on the stove. There's just something about homemade stewed tomatoes. So good.
Most of our garden is still dead. The tomato plants are dead but the tomatoes are still ripening. The zucchini will survive the monsoon-like rains. It hasn't rained here now for 1 week and the ground is still wet out there.
