Another Saturday

I just love this photo. I've got it as my desktop at work too. It's awesome. I even took it myself. In case you're wondering what I take my photos with, it's a Minolta Maxxum Qtsi and I used my Sigma 75-300 lense.
I have no clue what the numbers on the lense means. I do know it's a Macro. I also have a Tamron 75-300 Zoom lense. I didn't know the difference until a few weeks ago when I actually read about them. One's faster than the other.

This week seemed long and dull. It's that August thing I think. Part of it is that, at work, we're in the middle of a 6 week run with no paid days off unless we use vacation time. We get Sept. 5th off for Labor Day, then we have 8 dry weeks. After we hit October, we're running good. The UAW has so many paid days off in November and December that there's really only one full week of work. Can't wait!

Now, knitting. On our KnitList this week we had several topics. The hot one was yesterday when someone said something about "dumbing down knitting". At first, I wasn't sure what she was referring to, then I caught on. It was a topic that had me checking e-mail frequently during work. I was sure being bad. I really wasn't in the mood for work anyway. I did what I was supposed to and made the most of it.

I have a knitting item to add. Let me get the photo here.

There, it arrived. I had to drag it around, but I got it here. This would be some rust color chenille that I bought from Robin and Russ Handweavers a few years back. I've used some of the purple and I'm using some of the
off-white now with another project that I'll post a photo of if I haven't already. I don't remember. I have several antique steamer trunks and found the variegated wool blend in there. Wow, they go together so well. I have to do something with them. But what?!?
Any suggestions out there? I was thinking a linen-stitch jacket with a roll collar and lapel. Maybe some rolled cuffs as well. I haven't made a double-breasted sweater in a while, either. Maybe that's a thought. I will keep you posted. I'm still finishing my July Project Duo. I should take a photo of the cardigan since it's done, except for buttons. It's always the buttons. Why is that? I have tons of buttons. I used to buy them in bulk. You never know when you're going to run low so we must stock up whenever possible. Just like the yarn. There's always going to be yarn out there that needs a good home. Why not mine?
